Newly Diagnosed
Patient Packets:
This program has been implemented with the coordination of area oncologists.
Several Huntsville offices are participating, and the UAB gynecologic
oncology program is equipped with packet information for North Alabama
patients. These packets contain helpful information for those who have
just been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, including phone numbers of other
survivors, educational resources from national organizations, and
information about our support group. Most importantly, these patients
receive the packets at initial diagnosis, while they are still in the
hospital, to help alleviate initial fears and lack of information about the
disease.

Garden of Life and
Remembrance:
Lilies of the Valley dedicated the
Garden of Life
and Remembrance in September 2008. This garden
is
a place for individuals to reflect or to remember
those we have lost, or even to celebrate milestones, such as
anniversaries of survival. We hope that the use of public space will
increase awareness in general about ovarian cancer. Bricks are available for purchase to be placed in honor or memory of
those who battle this disease. Sponsorships
are available on a limited basis.
TEAL TALK Speaker's Program:
This program is designed for survivors to share their experiences with
ovarian cancer while educating others about the risk factor, signs, and
symptoms of the disease. Speakers are specially trained and provide
powerful presentations. If you know of a group who would like to
schedule a speaker, please
